I've been Tagged! Six Unimportant Things That Make Me Happy!

Toni D. of Dee-Zigns has tagged me to play the '6 Tag' game. She was tagged by her mother over at Gaston Studio. Please check out their blogs, as these Mamas are very well-read, and have a great deal of interesting things to say. Rules:

  • List Six Unimportant Things That Make You Happy.
  • Mention and link to the person who tagged you.
  • Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play along, and comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged.
Six Unimportant Things That Make Me Happy

  1. Solitude:

Caption: If only I looked this hot! ^

Every good writer knows that one must be able to withdraw from the world to reflect on all he or she has experienced, evaluate their own feelings toward any given situation, and compile their own interpretations -- a writer's time to meditate, if you will. Hence, the name of my blog.

Not one person in my family understands that I must have silence to write; the a writer's mind never stops its own internal compilation.

They don't understand my frustrations when I have been interrupted, and all my thoughts have gone out the window before I have had the chance to write them down. Only a writer would know. Everyone else just thinks I'm being an asshole when I escape to my creative zone.

I know every mother needs time to herself . . . even if it's just a few moments to sit on the proverbial thrown without interruption. Like that ever happens! This is why I write after all those under 30 are in bed.

However, that's usually when the hubby actually decides he wants to pay attention to me.

HA!

"Get back to your Dork Orb, Captain Gaming Nerd! This is my time!"

2. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM . . . Chocolate!

One sure-fire way to shut me up when I'm on a rampage! Give me chocolate, or give me death!

3. Soda, Soda Pop, Pop, Coke, Cola, Fizz, or as I like to call it . . . SODIE! Because it's SO DE licious! I thrive on Diet Coke ! If I'm out of sodie, ya best get outta my way, as I make a B line to the convenience store!

My name is Angela, and I'm a Sodaholic!

4. Play-on-words, puns, learning new words, and any other word games out there.
I should have been an
Etymologist because I am thoroughly fascinated with word origins and meanings.
5. Bargains: I love a good bargain, and live by the motto, "If it's free, it's for me!"

Freecycle ROCKS!
www.freecycle.org

Why spend good money on something if someone else has it and doesn't need it any more?
Save the Earth, cloth a Teenager!

6. A comfy computer chair would make me happy. This lopsided piece of crap should have been 'someone else's treasure' years ago! ;o)

I know exactly what you mean about quiet.. I go crazy when I am the middle of a thought or typing and someone starts talking then I stop and then forget where I left off at.. drives me INSANE>>>>> and diet coke... I drink way too much...but I won't stop...
Love it!

Love,
Kelly

I can soooo relate to this, especially the solitude... like I can pull a story out of my, uh, ear on command while everyone around me (including the animals) makes as much noise as they possibly can at that moment! Thanks!

I totally understand the need for solitude. Something I have so missed lately - and my writing, or lack thereof, shows it. I know too well how family doesn't understand how the interruptions take you out of the world our mind's live in while writing. So hard to get back to that place sometimes. Wasted times.

Solitude is not unimportant. It is necessary. Any parent or only child will tell you that

Hi Angela, just saw you on the bloggeries forum.

Darn soda gets me every time too, although it's Dr. Pepper in my case. If it weren't for the little things in life, life could be pretty dull.

Debbie June 2, 2009 at 12:32 PM

What a great "6" you chose! Very reveealing and I can relate to them all....especially solitude and chocolate...oh yeah. I also love word games...play on words....all of it. I grew up in a family that played games all the time with each other...we were always challenging ourselves. Boggle was big along with Scrabble. My father quizzed us constantly....that's how I memorized all the capitols of the United States and still know them! With my brothers it was math. My dad would say...How much is 5 plus 10 minus two times three plus one divided by four...something like that...really fast. Unlike this one...most of them almost always came out to one! So...me...not being as fast as my brothers would say ..."One!" Sometimes I was right! Ha Ha Great post!

I am one for solitude as well :) My children know the importance of 'quiet voices' and midnight is my favourite time as the house is quiet ;)

I'm all about the "free is for me" motto as well. I belong to my local freecycle and have given and been given a lot of great items.
Soda is my vice too. A bottle of Mt. Dew is with me at all times.

You are really funny now. Yes, I have Facebook, but I have no friends because I've basically ignored it...LOL. I just started delicious and I'm really liking it. I had problems with technorati when I was trying to claim my blog, so I wrote them an email, they did something and then it worked. You might want to try that too. Thanks for "digging" my blog. You note really gave me a chuckle and after this long day, I needed it. Have a great evening and if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know.
