Fiber One 50 Calorie Pack and Gift Giveaway!

My Blog Spark just sent this awesome "Healthy & Fit" weight management gift pack in exchange for my reviewing the Fiber One 50 Calorie Yogurt Pack and hosting this giveaway. The gift pack includes one insulated lunch tote, one large shaker/tumbler with lid, one divided plate with lid, a set of sturdy utensils, and a coupon for a free Fiber One 50 Calorie Pack.

The entire set is perfect for a healthy "on-the-go" lunch.

• The insulated lunch tote has ample room for lunch, as well as snacks.

• There is a separate zippered portion at the bottom of the bag that I use to hold my yogurt snacks, along with an ice pack.
• The covered tumbler is wonderful for salads. Just stuff with your fixings, add dressing and shake until the salad is perfectly tossed. This fits into the upper portion of the lunch tote.
• The divided plate is great for keeping foods separated, too.

I'm very excited to announce that My Blog Spark is allowing THREE of my readers to win the same gift pack by entering this giveaway (details below)!

They are also extending a money-saving coupon to all of my readers. Click here for your $1.00 off coupon!

Let's face it! We all need more fiber in our diets. Not only is fiber important for optimum digestive health, it is also thought to be significant in lowering cholesterol, as well as maintaining a healthy blood sugar level.

For those of us watching our weight or striving to lose weight, fiber plays a huge role in controlling hunger by keeping our appetites at bay. Forget appetite suppressants! Just eat more fiber!

Just one Fiber One 50 Calorie Yogurt provides a whopping 5 grams of fiber. The recommended daily allowance is 25 grams. Eat one as a snack between meals, and I guarantee your appetite will be tremendously reduced when it is time to sit down at the dinner table.

The texture is smooth, and the flavor is just phenomenal! My personal favorites are the strawberry and key lime pie flavors. It's just the 'pick-me-up' I need in between meals, not to mention a highly-tasteful, guilt-free snack. Snacking on healthy foods between meals also speeds up your metabolism, promoting healthy weight loss.

Check out these guilt-free facts:

• 0 grams of Fat
• 50 calories
• 5 grams of fiber
• Excellent source of vitamins A & D

Available Flavors:

• Strawberry
• Peach
• Vanilla
• Key Lime Pie

The infamous Hungry Girl, Lisa Lillen, has given Fiber One 50 Calories Packs her seal of approval. Check out her video below.

Box Tops for Education "Top This" Sweepstakes, Giveaway and Review

We have been clipping and cutting Box Tops since the program launched nationwide in the late 1990's. I remember thinking, "How will $0.10 help our schools?" I'm sure you've wondered the same thing. Is it really worth the effort? Well, let me put it this way:

According the the Box Tops for Education website, "Box Tops has helped America's schools earn over $250 million in the past 12 years."

So, yes . . . it is well-worth the minimal effort! I have four boys, in four different schools. We had collected Box Tops all year last year, and were able to provide each school with $25 worth of Box Tops.

Say there are, on average, 25 students in each classroom. If each student collects $25 worth of Box Tops, then (25 students X $25) would equal $625 per classroom.

Pillsbury Toaster Strudels are a huge hit in my house. Mornings are extremely chaotic, with each of my boys leaving at different times (6:20, 6:45, 7:45, 8:10). Cooking a huge breakfast is just not an option.

This is where Pillsbury Toaster Strudels save the day! Each of my children can choose their own flavors, and decorate their strudel their own way.

Totino's Pizza Rolls are the perfect after school snack, and my boys absolutely adore them! These bite-sized pizza pillows are easy to prepare. Instant pizza . . . just add microwave.

There's nothing like warm pizza to soothe those cranky hunger monsters! Not to mention, it keeps my crew satisfied until dinner is ready.

The wonderful people at My Blog Spark have gifted us with this HUGE "Top This" prize package.
In addition, they also have been so gracious to offer one of my readers a "Top This" prize
package, which includes everything in the image below:

Please note that the winner will be receiving VIP coupons for one FREE Pillsbury Toaster Strudel and one FREE Totino's Pizza Rolls, and not the actual product. Redeem at your local grocer.

Yoplait® Thick & Creamy Review and Giveaway!

Thank you to everyone who had entered this giveaway! Please check out all the other giveaways I am currently hosting.

Congratulations go out to:

Nicole and Holly S!

I will be contacting you via email to claim your prize, and give you 72 hours to respond.

Yoplait® to the rescue!

Yoplait® is the only leading yogurt with vitamin D in every cup!

The video above, regarding the alarming number of children deficient in Vitamin D was released yesterday, August 3, 2009

A Vitamin D insufficiency can have a significant impact on the health of our children. Fortified foods, supplements, and increased exposure to sunlight are the only ways to ensure your child maintains a proper vitamin D level.

My son had a kidney disease from 13 months until he was almost 12 years old, when he received his kidney transplant. We know, all too well, the adverse health issues that a Vitamin D insufficiency can bring.

Koby had rickets as a result of Fanconi's Syndrome (the kidney disease) and the lack of Vitamin D. Since he was also lactose intolerant, his doctor recommended Yoplait® to increase his levels. It definitely worked!

Needless to say, I have always been a huge fan of Yoplait® yogurts, so I was so excited when given this opportunity to review Yoplait's Thick & Creamy® yogurts.

Yoplait® and My Blog Spark™ have teamed together to provide two of my blog friends with the stationary gift basket below, including a free Thick & Creamy Yogurt to pleasure your taste buds.

I sampled the Strawberry Banana flavor and fell in love with the Thick & Creamy texture. I would describe it as a thick custard texture that literally melts in your mouth.

Yoplait® has always hit the mark when it comes to flavor, and the Strawberry Banana was, without a doubt, the best representation of Strawberries and Bananas blended happily together I have ever tasted! This flavor is definitely a perfect union, and I doubt these guys will be parting ways as long as Yoplait® is around. ;o)

Check out these awesome flavors:

Blackberry Harvest

Strawberry Banana

Key Lime Pie

Vanilla

Peaches 'N Cream

Royal Raspberry

Strawberry

Of course, with four boys, I just had to get more than one. lol I purchased four of each flavor (yes, that's 28, and the boys and I had a tasting party.

Taste Testing Party

I opened one of each container and put a spoonful of each of the seven flavors on their plates. Being a scientific nerd, I wanted a blind study to figure out which flavored they each liked the best.

Here are their results:

17 year old = Key Lime Pie

14 year old = Blackberry Harvest

7 year old twin = Peaches 'N Cream

other 7 year old twin = Blackberry Harvest, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Banana, Peaches 'N Cream, Royal Raspberry, Vanilla, & Strawberry

LOL Leave it to Alex! He is the twin with autism, so he wanted to mix them all together and say he loved them all!

Now, for the writing part of the exam

I filled 4" in diameter pancake molds with their favorite flavor (yes, Alex had a little of each in his mold), smoothed the top, and let them sit for a minute or two.

I gave the older boys a toothpick, and gave the twins a small cookie cutter of their choice. The impressions held wonderfully and here are their results:

17 year old wrote "My mom is WEIRD!"

14 year old wrote "Don't play with your food!"

7 year old twin made a tractor and poked holes in front of it to resemble a pile of rocks.

Alex made a . . . well . . . um, ok . . . in his words "Squishy, gooey fingers surprise!" No explanation necessary, right Moms?

The Final Test

I transferred all their creations into the freezer. Yes, Alex's masterpiece was a bit difficult to freeze being that it was coating each of his fingers. But being the creative mom that I am, I gave him a silicone scraper, and helped him scrap his 'hands on' art back into the pancake mold.

Thank God, we all washed our hands before participating in this study!

The frozen treats were absolutely FAB, and a great way to get those healthy vitamins in the kids without a great deal of calories.
