I have been trying to write some words of comfort for Heather and Mike since I heard of Maddie's untimely death. I cannot choke down the tears long enough to do so.

I have never met Maddie, nor her loving parents, but do share the intensity of emotions they are feeling at this time of loss.

There are no words. There are no reasons. There's simply no way to comfort you both during this time. Losing a child is unfathomable, even to another who has endured this same pain.

Please just know Maddie has touched the hearts of many - through her smile, through your words, and through the suffering you have all had to endure.

She will always be your angel. On her wings, there is hope for tomorrow's premature babies.
